This article describes how to set up the Microsoft Windows Message Queuing service for Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server.
The Message Queuing service handles message delivery between the Message Processor and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) connector for Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server push notification
The Message Queuing service is installed on the server that is running Mobile Information Server but does not have to be installed on the server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server for communications. Communications between Exchange Server and Mobile Information Server for push notification is completed through SMTP.
NOTE: To install the Message Queuing service on a server, you must make sure that the server is part of the domain (either a member server or a domain controller).
NOTE: The Message Queuing service must be installed and configured before you install Mobile Information Server.
