Using Arrow Keys to Move Between Tabs Causes Narrator to Read the Menus Twice (283406)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
This article was previously published under Q283406 SYMPTOMS
When you use the Narrator utility, certain menus may be read twice. Specifically, this happens if you use the arrow keys to move between tabs in a dialog box and to move to menu items.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because of how Narrator is designed. On the General tab, Narrator reads menu information only once. However, if you use the arrow keys to move to the other tabs, each move of an arrow key generates two events, and Narrator reads the affected menus twice.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
