You can use this functionality to contact support professionals, friends, or support communities to help you fix computer-related issues. Direct Licensed Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can pre-install computers with customized versions of Help and Support Center so that it includes information about the specific computer, along with the Help and Support content provided by Microsoft. OEMs can also include Internet-based programs in Help and Support Center, which enable you to get support by using the Internet.

If you use a computer that has an Internet connection, when new Help information becomes available, these updates are downloaded automatically. These updates ensure that you always have the most recent, accurate self-help information.
