After you remove a device from Device Manager, if you click No when you are asked whether you want to restart the computer now, the device may still appear in Device Manager after the Device Manager window is updated.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the device is in use. Windows XP cannot stop and remove the device until you restart the computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, restart the computer.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
