SYMPTOMS

A component that uses the COM+ Shared Property Manager (SPM) extensively may generate the following error message when under stress:
COM+ Internal Error. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

Assertion Failure: hr == S_OK
Server Application ID: {guid}
Server Application Name: "COM+ application name"
The serious nature of this error has caused the process to terminate. COM+ Services Internals Information:
File: .\spgobj.cpp, Line: 268

This problem only occurs on a computer that has multiple processors and is running Microsoft Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
