How to Create a Shortcut on the Outlook Bar for a File Folder

Use the following steps to create a shortcut on the Outlook Bar for a file folder:
  1. On the Outlook Bar, click the group to which you want to add the shortcut.
  2. Right-click the background of the Outlook Bar where you want to add the shortcut, and then click Outlook Bar Shortcut on the Shortcut menu.
  3. In the Look In list, click File System.

    NOTE: If the File System option is missing from the Look In list, the Integrated File Management component has not been installed. See the "How to Add Components to Outlook" section in this article.
  4. In the Folder Name box, click to select the folder that you want, and then click OK.
  5. If the folder you want is a subfolder, double-click the folder.

How to Print the List of Files in the Folder

To print a list of files contained in the folder, follow these steps.
  1. Click to select the folder from which you want to print, and then click the file that you want to print.
  2. On the File menu, click Print.
  3. In the Print style box, click to select the Table Style, and then click OK.

How To Add Components to Outlook

The Integrated File Management for Outlook 98 is an add-on component that enables you to search your computer's local hard disk or a network drive for any type of file. Use the following steps tp add componenet to Outlook:
  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  4. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click to select the Microsoft Outlook 98 check box, and then click Add/Remove.
  5. In the Outlook 98 Active Setup dialog box, click Add New Components.
  6. Click either Install from Web or Install from CD depending on the source of your initial installation.

    NOTE: If you use the CD-ROM for your installation, make sure that Microsoft Internet Explorer is not in offline mode. To verify that Internet Explorer is not in offline mode, click the File menu and verify that the Work Offline option is not selected. If the Work Offline option is selected, click to remove the Work Offline option.
  7. Click Yes, to allow Active Setup to determine the Outlook components that are installed on your computer.
  8. To see more information about a component, click the arrow next to the item.
  9. To add a component, click to select the checkbox that is next to the item.
  10. Click Next, when you have finished selecting the components that you want to add.
  11. Click to select a Download Site, and then click Install Now.
  12. When the download is complete, quit all programs and restart your computer.
