ENT2001: You Cannot Synchronize Entourage With a Handheld PC (281270)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Entourage 2001 for Mac
  • Microsoft Exchange Update for Entourage X (Office v. X 10.1.4 Update)

This article was previously published under Q281270

SUMMARY

Microsoft does not provide a method to synchronize data with a Microsoft Windows CE-based Handheld PC (H/PC) in Entourage. However, third party developers have created several available solutions (including PocketMac) to synchronize with Entourage. This includes third party devices made by companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Casio, Compaq and others that are Windows CE-based.

MORE INFORMATION

The ActiveSync software that is used to synchronize data between a H/PC and a Windows desktop is not developed to run on the Apple Macintosh.

Entourage will synchronize with a Palm Pilot operating system (Palm OS)-based Handheld PC (H/PC) by using the conduit that is supplied with the Value Pack included with Microsoft Office for Mac 2001.
