Links 2001: Golf Ball Moves in Slow Motion While in Flight (281221)

SYMPTOMS

When you play Microsoft Links 2001, and a player hits the ball, the animation speed may proceed in slow motion during the entire flight of the ball. After the ball lands the animation speed returns to normal.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if a Rage Fury Maxx video adapter is installed in your computer with both processors are enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disable one of the processors on the Rage Fury Maxx video adapter. To do so, use the method that is appropriate for your operating system:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 and earlier:
    1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click Settings, and then click Advanced Properties.
    3. Click MAXX, and then click to select the Disable dual-chip mode check box.
    4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
    5. Restart the computer when you receive the prompt.
  • Microsoft Windows XP
    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click Settings, and then click Advanced.
    3. Click MAXX, and then click to select the Disable dual-chip mode check box.
    4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
    5. Restart the computer when you receive the prompt.
