SYMPTOMS

All Microsoft Office programs contain context-sensitive Help. However, when you minimize an Office program, the Help window's title and contents do not automatically change to reflect the context of another Office program that remains in view. This behavior occurs if both of the following conditions are true:
  • You have more than one Office program running and maximized on the desktop.
  • You have the Help window open for each program.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, click anywhere in the program window. By doing so, the screen is refreshed, and the Office Help window contents and title are changed to reflect the context of the active program.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

All Office programs use the same Help program. When you select a different Office program, the context of Help changes to reflect the context of the currently selected program.
