MORE INFORMATION

The Office 2001 for Mac installer places the various files in specific locations so that the programs can initialize properly and work interactively. These locations are recorded in the PPC Registration database that is located in the Preferences folder in the Macintosh System Folder.

If you wish to create and use a convenience icon to start Entourage, create an alias of the program file, and then place the alias in the desired location. Aliases are characterized by the use of italic text in the labels and by the small arrow at the lower right of the icon.

To create an alias of the Entourage icon:
  1. Open the Microsoft Office 2001 folder.
  2. Click the Entourage icon once to select it.
  3. On the Finder File menu, click Make Alias.
  4. Move the alias to the desired location.
You can rename aliases without affecting the aliases' links to the program or file to which they are associated. To rename an alias:
  1. Click the alias label once. The text of the label is selected.
  2. Edit the text to change the label.
  3. Click somewhere away from the alias to complete the change.
