ACC2000: Save Record Command Is Unavailable When AllowEdits Property Is Set to No (False) (280405)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Access form that has the AllowEdits property set to No (False), the Save Record command on the Records menu is unavailable (is dimmed).

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

MORE INFORMATION

Access 2000 only looks at the AllowEdits property when determining whether to save a record when it should be looking at both the AllowEdits and the AllowAdditions properties.
