Missing Taskbar Icons When You Install Tray Magician (280316)

SYMPTOMS

If you have PC Magazine's Tray Magician v1.1 installed on a computer that is running Windows Millennium Edition (Me), Tray Magician may cause your taskbar icons to appear randomly and you may also have missing icons on the taskbar.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Tray Magician v1.1 is designed to work with Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, uninstall Tray Magician:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Double-click Tray Magician in the list of installed programs, and then follow the prompts to uninstall the program.
You can also temporarily disable Tray Magician by removing the shortcut icon from the Startup folder in Windows Explorer. Note that you must restart your computer for the changes to take affect.
