Visio2000: Accept Option and Next Button Are Missing from End User License Agreement (EULA) During Installation (279853)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Microsoft Visio 2000, the option to Accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) may be missing and the Next button is not available. Setup is unable to continue with the installation in this state.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, you must cycle through the options within the End User License Agreement to find the invisible Accept option (a radio button). To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Use the TAB key to cycle through the choices in the End User License Agreement dialog box. Stop when you see that the text portion of the EULA agreement is selected.

    -or-

    Click in the text area of the license agreement.
  2. While the EULA text is selected, press the TAB key one time.

    NOTE: At this point, nothing appears to be selected, but in fact, the Don't Accept option is selected.
  3. Press the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW key.

    NOTE: At this point, nothing appears to be selected, but in fact, the Accept option is now selected. The Next button is also available.
  4. Click NEXT to confirm that you accept the End User License Agreement, and then continue with the installation.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
