SYMPTOMS

When you use DCOM operations on a Microsoft Windows NT Server-based multi-processor computer, and the Remote Procedure Call service starts the DCOM garbage collection mechanism, an access violation may occur.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if all the following conditions are true:
  • You run Microsoft Windows NT Server on a multi-processor computer.
  • You have Microsoft Transaction Server installed on the computer.
  • You have Microsoft Internet Information Server installed on the computer.
  • You have Microsoft SQL Server installed on the computer.
  • The computer is under heavy stress.
