Mobile Information Server in System Manager Does Not Display Running Icon (279396)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Mobile Information Server System Manager to view the Mobile Information Server computers, some servers display a Running icon (an icon with green arrow) and others display only the Server icon.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the only server that has the Running icon are those that have Event Sources located on them. Mobile Information Server computers that only have the Mobile Information Server components installed only appear as a server.

STATUS

This behavior is by design because the Mobile Information Server computers cannot be stopped as the servers with the Event Sources can, therefore, there is no "running" or "stopped" state for these servers.
