PUB2002: Landscape Word Document Is Imported with Portrait Orientation (279387)

When you import a Microsoft Word document that uses the landscape page orientation, the Import Microsoft Word Wizard ignores this setting and reformats the document with portrait page orientation. Any formatting that took advantage of the wider landscape page width is truncated in the imported publication.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, manually switch the page orientation back to landscape, and resize the text frames to fit within the layout guides. You may have to reposition images in their original locations.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
