OL2002: Full Name and Address Check Boxes Do Not Retain Your Settings After Upgrade (278155)

SYMPTOMS

In Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000, when you open a contact item, click Full Name, and then click to clear the Show this again when name is incomplete or unclear check box, the check box is selected again after you upgrade. This also applies to the Show this again when address is incomplete or unclear check box that appears when you click Address.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, click the check boxes in Outlook 2002 to clear them:
  1. Go to the Contacts folder in Outlook 2002.
  2. Double-click a contact to open it.
  3. Click Full Name.
  4. Click to clear the Show this again when name is incomplete or unclear check box.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click the Address button.
  7. Click to clear the Show this again when address is incomplete or unclear check box.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Save and Close to close the contact.
