SUMMARY

This article describes the functionality of the Expect Receipt and Generate Receipt properties on the Source Organization page of the Channel Wizard.

MORE INFORMATION

The Expect Receipt property indicates that a receipt is expected for the outbound document that is being processed by this channel.

The Generate Receipt property indicates that a receipt will be generated in acknowledgment of the inbound document that is being processed by this channel.

If the Generate Receipt property is selected, a predefined receipt channel that maps to your trading partner's receipt port must be selected from the available Receipt channel list.

The available Receipt channel list displays only channels that meet the following requirements:
  1. On the first page of the Channel Wizard, This is a receipt channel is selected.
  2. The messaging port to which the channel is bound has a destination identifier that matches the source identifier for the channel that is currently being created.
When BizTalk Server 2000 invokes a channel that has Generate Receipt selected, the server returns a receipt to the original source of the document by using the specified receipt channel.
