When you edit a Rich Text Format (RTF) WordMail message in Microsoft Outlook 2002, and you then save the message, complex formatting (such as a comment) is lost from the message.
Additionally, you do not receive a message warning you that formatting will be lost if you save the edited message.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use Microsoft Word 2002 to edit the WordMail message. To do so, follow these steps:
- In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Mail Format tab, and then click to select the Use Microsoft Word to edit Rich Text e-mail messages check box. Click OK.
- Open the Inbox, and then double-click to open the WordMail message.
The comments in your message now appear.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
