ENT2001: The Paperclip Icon Is Missing in Messages that You View with Online Access (273881)

SYMPTOMS

When you view the contents of your Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) mailbox by using the Allow Online Access feature in Entourage, the Paperclip icon which signifies that there is an attachment to the message is missing.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Online Access view displays the message in an unconverted state. The attachment information is not available to Entourage until the message is downloaded.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, click Send & Receive to transfer the message to your Entourage Inbox.

MORE INFORMATION

Messages with attachments are encoded so that they can be transmitted in diverse environments. The messages are not decoded until a mail client that is capable of decoding receives them.
