SYMPTOMS

Selecting a folder in Windows Explorer does not immediately select the folder; instead, it selects the folder, reselects the previous folder, and then finally selects the desired folder.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when Internet Explorer version 5.5 is installed on a computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, or Windows NT 4.0, and you have selected the View as Web Page option.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, do not select the View as Web Page option in Windows Explorer.

STATUS

This behavior does not occur in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, or Microsoft Windows 2000.
