Deleted Folder Still Appears in Windows Explorer (273798)

SYMPTOMS

After you delete a folder in Windows Explorer, the folder may not disappear, and the folder may be moved to the bottom of the folder list. If you then try to open the folder, you may receive the following error message:
path to the folder is not accessible. This folder was moved or removed.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when you are running Internet Explorer version 5.5, and the View As Web Page option is enabled.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

In Windows Explorer, click Refresh on the View menu.

Method 2

Disable the View As Web Page option. To do so, right-click the desktop, point to Active Desktop, and then click View As Web Page.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem is resolved in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) and Microsoft Windows 2000.
