Works: Data Loss When You Export Database to Paradox 7 (273579)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a dBase (III or IV) file in Microsoft Works Database, and then open the database file in Borland Paradox version 7, you may lose data.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Paradox 7 cannot read the dBase file correctly.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, save the Works Database file as a Text & Commas file:
  1. Open the Works Database file.
  2. On the File menu, click Save As.
  3. In the Save as type box, click Text & Commas (*.csv).
  4. Click Save.

This issue does not occur in Corel Paradox version 8.
