ENT2001: The Attachment in a Message Opens As an Empty File (273525)

SYMPTOMS

If you click a large attachment in an Entourage message, drag it to your desktop, and then try to open the attachment, the file may appear empty.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the file attachment portion of the message may not have downloaded completely.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, wait for the file to download before you drag it to your desktop and open it.

MORE INFORMATION

Entourage displays the following messages on the status bar when messages are being downloaded from the mail server:
  • Receiving Messages - this message is displayed when the message transfer is not finished.
  • No Pending Schedules - this message is displayed when the message transfer is finished.
