ENT2001: You Cannot Change the Spelling Dictionary by Using AppleScript (273512)

SYMPTOMS

In Entourage, you cannot change the spelling dictionary or other proofing options with AppleScript.

CAUSE

When you use the AppleScript implementation in Entourage, you cannot programmatically changing proofing settings.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, manually change dictionaries and other proofing options.

To choose a custom dictionary:
  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences, and then click General.
  2. Click the Spelling tab, and then click Dictionaries.
  3. Locate the custom dictionary that you want to use on your computer, and then click Select.
The default location for Microsoft Office 2001 for the Macintosh dictionaries is in the following folder:

Hard Drive:System Folder:Preferences:Microsoft

To choose a specific language dictionary:
  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences, and then click General.
  2. On the Spelling tab, click the proofing language option that you want in the Dictionary Language box.
