Incorrect Response Returned When You Send a Message on an Incorrect Extended Property Value (273211)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) connector between the Corporate Mobile Information server and the Carrier Mobile Information server with an incomplete address, and then you send a message across it, you may receive a response value of 200, which indicates success.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because you did not specify the virtual directory in the request line.

RESOLUTION

This behavior is by design.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, you have to use the correct address for the HTTP connector, which should include the virtual directory name:

http://servername/mmisnotify

MORE INFORMATION

If you do not specify the virtual directory in the extended properties, the HTTP request does not reach the Internet Server API extension; only the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) virtual root receives the request. Because the request line is get / HTTP/1.1, it only returns a default page with a status code of 200.
