The Clip Gallery file (Artgal50.mmc) is a catalog that stores thumbnails and metadata for all the clip art files that you add to Clip Gallery.

NOTE: One Artgal50.mmc file is created for each user and is stored in the following default folder

drive:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Catalog folder

where drive is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed.

If you previously installed a program that used Microsoft Clip Gallery to catalog your clip art files and you start one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you are prompted with the following message:

Do you want to import the items you previously cataloged in Microsoft Clip Gallery?

If you click Yes, the contents of the Clip Gallery file are imported in the Gallery.

If you have already started one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, use the following steps to import the Artgal50.mmc file:

  1. Open a project.
  2. On the View menu, click Options.NOTE: For the 2002 product versions, on the Tool menu, click Options.

  3. Click Import Microsoft Clip Gallery items.
  4. Click Yes.
