Laptop Computer Does Not Enter Hibernate Mode by Closing Lid (271243)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
This article was previously published under Q271243 SYMPTOMS When you close the lid on your laptop computer that uses
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), the computer might not enter
Hibernate mode (the S4 power state). CAUSE The ACPI _LID device may have a control method called _PRW
that can return the lowest power-level setting from which the computer can wake
when you open the lid. Windows Millennium Edition (Me) does not disarm the _LID
device for wakeup, expect in cases in which the computer is entering Suspend
mode. As a result, the computer's power level is not set to Hibernate.
