To insert a picture into a Works Word Processor document, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

Copy and paste the picture from another document:
  1. Start the program that created the document containing the picture that you want to copy.
  2. Open the file that you want.

    NOTE: In most programs, you can do this by clicking Open on the File menu, and then browsing to find the file.
  3. Click the image that you want.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Copy.

    NOTE: If the program does not have an Edit menu, click the image, and then press CTRL+C.
  5. Start Works Word Processor.
  6. If this is not a new document, follow these steps:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. Browse to find the file that you want, and then click Open.
  7. Place the insertion point on the position at which you want the image to appear in the document.
  8. On the Edit menu, click Paste.

Method 2

Insert a picture from a file:
  1. Start Works Word Processor.
  2. If this is not a new document, follow these steps:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. Browse to find the file that you want, and then click Open.
  3. Place the insertion point on the position at which you want the image to appear in the document.
  4. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
  5. In the Insert Picture dialog box, browse to find the picture that you want.
  6. Click the picture that you want, and then click Insert.

    TIP: To view a thumbnail of the picture that you select, click to select the Enable preview check box.

Method 3

Use Microsoft Draw to insert the picture:
  1. Start Works Word Processor.
  2. If this is not a new document, follow these steps:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. Browse to find the file that you want, and then click Open.
  3. Place the insertion point on the position at which you want the image to appear in the document.
  4. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click New Drawing.
  5. On the File menu, click Import Picture.
  6. Browse to find the picture that you want.
  7. Click the picture, and then click Open.
  8. On the File menu, click Update.
  9. On the File menu, click Exit and Return.

Method 4

Use the Works 6 Clip Art Wizard Find tab:
  1. Start Works Word Processor.
  2. If this is not a new document, follow these steps:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. Browse to find the file that you want, and then click Open.
  3. Place the insertion point on the position at which you want the image to appear in the document.
  4. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  5. On the Find tab and in the Type a keyword box, type a keyword for the image that you want to find, for example, car.
  6. In the Select a media type box, click the media type that you want, and then click Search.
  7. Click the thumbnail of the image that you want, and then click Insert.

Method 5

Use the Works 6 Clip Art Wizard Browse tab:
  1. Start Works Word Processor.
  2. If this is not a new document, follow these steps:
    1. On the File menu, click Open.
    2. Browse to find the file that you want, and then click Open.
  3. Place the insertion point on the position at which you want the image to appear in the document.
  4. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  5. On the Browse tab and in the Select a category box, click the image category that you want, for example, Academic.
  6. In the Select a sub-category box, click the sub-category that you want, for example, Books.
  7. In the Select a media type box, click the media type that you want, for example All pictures (clip art and photographs).
  8. Click the thumbnail of the image that you want, and then click Insert.
