SYMPTOMS

After you switch to a printer other than your default printer in a program, the paper size may not change.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the paper size does not change if the printer that you select supports the same paper size as the previous printer.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

When you change printers in your program, also change the paper size to the size that you want to use before you print.

Method 2

Before you start your program, make the printer that you want to use the default printer:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer that you want to use, and then click Set as Default Printer.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

When you start a program, the program may override the default settings for the printer in the Printers folder. Note that this behavior does not occur with all printers.
