XL2001: Conditional Formatting in Column Settings Is Not Adjusted When List is Copied (270099)

When you use copy and paste to create a copy of a list that contains conditional formatting, the conditional formatting in the new list works correctly.
However, when you double-click the header of a column that contains conditional formatting in the new list, and then click Conditional Formatting, the Condition that is set in the Conditional Formatting dialog box references an incorrect location. The Condition may reference a location in the old list that was copied.
NOTE: This problem should not affect the operation of the conditional formatting in your new list. The cells in the new list will reference the correct location, and so the conditional formatting in the new list should work correctly.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Select a cell in the column that contains your conditional formatting.
- Click Column Settings on the List toolbar, and then click Conditional Formatting.
- Edit the Condition settings to reflect the correct relative cells, and then click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac.
