Works: Image Document Object Shrinks and Becomes Unusable When You Reselect It (269991)

SYMPTOMS

An Image Document object that you insert into a Microsoft Works Word Processor document may become too small to view, and you may be unable to select the object.

These symptoms may occur whether the Image Document object is empty or populated.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the following conditions are true:
  • Works 6 is installed on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.
  • You follow these steps:
    1. Start Works Word Processor.
    2. On the Insert menu, click Object.
    3. Under Object Type, click Image Document, and then click OK.

      On the Imaging toolbar, note that the Zoom value is 10.60%.
    4. Click outside the Image Document object to clear your selection of the object and return to Works Word Processor.
    5. Double-click Image Document object to reselect the object.

      Note that the Zoom value on the Imaging toolbar is now 648.20%.
    6. Click outside the Image Document object to clear your selection of the object and return to Works Word Processor. Note that the Image Document object is now too small to view or use.

RESOLUTION

To work around for this issue, do not select an Image Document object after you insert it into a Works Word Processor document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
