Works 6: Works Portfolio "Start This Task" Link Is Not Visible on the Works Task Launcher (269978)

SYMPTOMS

On the Microsoft Works Task Launcher, the Start this task link for Works Portfolio may not be visible.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if all of the following conditions are true:
  • The Microsoft Windows screen resolution is set to 640 x 480 pixels.
  • Works Portfolio is docked to the side of the computer screen.
  • Works Portfolio is in Docked view.
  • You click the Programs tab on the Works Task Launcher.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

Click Compact view on the Works Portfolio toolbar.

Method 2

Change the Windows screen resolution to 800 x 600 pixels or greater.

NOTE: Works is designed to function with an optimal screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels or greater.

To change the Windows screen resolution to 800 x 600 pixels, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. On the Settings tab, move the Screen area slider to the 800 by 600 pixels position.
  4. Click OK.
