FIX: Error Message "Visual Studio Installer Setup Was Not Completed Successfully" (269798)

When you set up the Visual Studio Installer 1.0 on the Windows Millennium Edition (Me) operating system, you receive the following error message:
Visual Studio Installer Setup was not completed successfully.
CAUSE
This error is caused by a problem in the Visual Studio Installer setup program running on the Windows Me operating system.
RESOLUTION
To set up and use the Visual Studio Installer on Windows Me, install the updated 1.1 version of the Visual Studio Installer. This version sets up without error.
You can find Visual Studio Installer version 1.1 on the following Microsoft Web site at: STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This bug has been fixed in Visual Studio Installer version 1.1.
