SUMMARY

Several attributes and formatting options introduced in Microsoft Visio 2000 are not supported in the Microsoft Visio 5.0 file format. In some cases, the original attributes and formatting options applied in Visio 2000 are unavailable after the file is saved in the Visio 5.0 file format and then reopened in Visio 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

Note the following differences between the Visio 2000 and Visio 5.0 file formats:
  • Metafiles, bitmaps, or OLE objects that have been rotated are not rotated in Visio 5.0.
  • Geometry and text blocks that have been added to metafiles, bitmaps, and OLE objects are removed in Visio 5.0.
  • Line-jump styles default to the Visio 5.0 arc style.
  • Character spacing and strike-through/double-underlined type formatting are removed in Visio 5.0.
  • Outward connection points are converted to inward connection points, and connection point angles are removed in Visio 5.0.
NOTE: Visio 2000 supports drawings of far greater complexity than Visio 5.0. Attempts to save large Visio 2000 drawings in the Visio 5.0 file format may not be successful.
