Source Groups Must All Have the Same Advanced Features Selected (269067)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 7
  • Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 7.1

This article was previously published under Q269067

SYMPTOMS

When you start Windows Media Encoder and then switch source groups, you may receive the following error message:
The request is invalid in the current state. (0xC00D002B)

CAUSE

The source groups are not all configured for the same video optimization setting.

RESOLUTION

When you set up source groups in the Session Properties dialog box, if you click the Video Optimization tab while you define the source group, you must make sure that all groups are configured the same way.

For example, if one source group has the DeInterlacing radio button selected, then all source groups must have the DeInterlacing radio button selected. The same is true with Inverse Telecine. You cannot mix None, DeInterlacing, and Inverse Telecine between the various source groups.

If one or more of your source groups is configured differently, the Windows Media Encoder configures and starts properly. However, when you try to switch to a source group that is configured differently, the Windows Media Encoder stops and you receive the error listed in the "Symptoms" section.
