SideWinder: Cannot Feel Forces When You Test Game Controller (268964)

When you use the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel to test forces
for the Microsoft SideWinder game controllers listed at the beginning of
this article, you may not feel any force-feedback effects.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you disable schemes in the Microsoft SideWinder
Game Controller software.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, re-enable schemes in the SideWinder Game Controller
software, and then use either of the following methods:
- Click any other tab in the Properties dialog box for your
SideWinder game controller, and then click the Forces
tab.
- Close and then reopen the Game Controllers tool in Control
Panel.
When you test forces, you now feel force-feedback effects as expected.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
