XWEB: Prompted for Credentials When Using Navigator or Internet Explorer 4.0 to Log On to Two Mailboxes on Same Server (268752)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator 4.x to gain access to Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) and you open two different mailboxes (that reside on the same server) with two browser windows on the same workstation, if you perform any action on the mailbox for which you did not enter credentials most recently, you are prompted again for credentials (this assumes that users do not have rights to each other's mailboxes).

For example:

• User A logs on to the UserA mailbox by using the following Uniform Resource Locator (URL):

  http://servername/exchange/userA

  When prompted, User A types User A's user name and password.
• User A opens a second browser window and logs on to the UserB mailbox by using the following URL:

  http://servername/exchange/userB

  When prompted, User A types User B's user name and password.
• When User A attempts to perform any operation to the UserA mailbox in the UserA mailbox browser window (for example, view the Calendar, open a message, or create a message), User A is prompted again for User A credentials.
• After User A re-types the User A credentials in the UserA mailbox browser window, when User A attempts to perform any operation to the UserB mailbox, User A is prompted again for User B credentials.
