The proxy setting can be the same for different locations or the setting can change. You can create an Internet settings file for these proxy settings. These settings are initialized when you select the location. Programs, such as Entourage, use these settings.

The following two sections describe how to create two Internet Sets and associate them with two locations.

How to Associate Internet Preferences with Location Manager

To associate Internet preferences with a location:

• Create an Internet preferences set
• Create the location and apply the preferences

How to Create an Internet Preferences Set

1. Click Control Panels on the Apple menu, and then click Internet.
2. On the File menu, click Rename Set. The default set is "Untitled" (without quotation marks).
3. In the Rename Set As box, type a name for this set, and then click Rename.
4. On the Edit menu, click User Mode.
5. In the User Mode dialog box, click Advanced, and then click OK. The basic mode does not allow you to set features such as proxies.
6. In the Internet dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then locate and click Firewalls.
7. Click to select the Web Proxy check box.
8. In the Web proxy box, type the proxy name.
9. Verify that the Port setting is correct. The default value is 80, but it may be different with your connection.
10. On the File menu, click Save Settings.
11. On the File menu, click New Set, and then name the second Internet set.
12. Repeat these steps to configure the second Internet set.

How to Create the Location and Apply the Preferences

1. On the Apple menu, click Control Panels, and then click Location Manager.
2. In Location Manager dialog box, click Edit Locations to expand the window.
3. On the File menu, click New Location. Type a descriptive name for the location, and then click Save.
4. In the Locations Manager Settings dialog box, click to select the Internet Set check box, click Edit to select the Internet Set to associate with this location, and then click Apply.
5. Click Current Location to select the new location, and then click Apply. The default setting is "None(Off)" (without quotation marks).
6. On the File menu, click New Location, name the location, and then repeat the steps to configure and associate the second Internet Set.
