Works 6: Cannot Drag Object to Other Programs (268369)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to drag an object from a Microsoft Works 6 Word Processor document to another program, the pointer may be displayed as a red circle with a diagonal line through it and the object is not moved to the new location.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the object that you want to drag is formatted using the Tight or Square wrapping format.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the wrapping format of the object:
  1. Right-click the object, and then click Format Object.
  2. Click the Wrapping tab, and then click In line with text.
  3. Click OK.
