SUMMARY

Microsoft Windows Media Player versions 7.0 and 7.1 can import standard playlist files from third-party players. This feature allows you to keep previously selected custom music lists.

To import previously selected playlist files into Windows Media Player, you need to know the location of the playlist files. When you know the location of these files, open Windows Media Player and follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Import Playlist to Library.
  2. In the Open File dialog box, click Browse to navigate to the directory where the playlist file is located.

    NOTE: To display the playlist file, click Media playlists in the File type drop-down list box.
  3. Highlight the playlist file, and then click OK.
The contents of the playlist file are placed into My Playlists under Media Library.
