SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to create a shortcut on to the Quick Launch toolbar, you may receive the following error message:

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the Tours and Tutorials, Index, or Assisted Supported Web pages from the Help Center are displayed.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue, do not drag the program across the Help Center Web page when you create a shortcut.

To create a shortcut on the Quick Launch toolbar, drag the program across the Start menu.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
