WMI ODBC Adapter Not Able to Process DATETIME Queries (267598)

SYMPTOMS

The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) ODBC adapter that is included with Systems Management Server (SMS) version 2.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) does not return data from SQL queries that contain the DATETIME criteria in the WHERE clause.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Using the Hotfix Installer

NOTE: You can use this method only for Intel-based computers with Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 or Windows 2000 installed.
  1. Copy the hotfix executable file (Q267598.exe) to a local folder on your computer or to a share on your network.
  2. Run the Q267598.exe file and follow the directions.
  3. Restart your computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
