Compaq IJ900 Timed Standby Does Not Take Effect Correctly After Printing (267358)

SYMPTOMS

When you set a computer to go into standby mode after 1 minute while you are printing a document to a Compaq IJ900 printer, the change to standby mode may not take effect immediately after printing is complete. Instead, there may be a delay of 20 minutes on a computer running Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition or 3 minutes on a computer running Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, put the computer into standby mode before or after printing. To put the computer into standby mode, click Start, click Shut Down, and then click Standby.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
