SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Works 4.5 Word Processor document within the Microsoft Works 2000 or the Microsoft Works 6 Word Processor, objects such as clip art or pictures may appear at the bottom of the page, rather than in their correct positions in the document.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you format the objects with a Text Wrap in the Works 4.5 Word Processor, and then select the Absolute setting.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, reformat the objects in the Works 2000 or the Works 6 Word Processor, and then put the object in the position that you want.

To reformat objects in the Works Word Processor, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Works 2000 or the Works 6 Word Processor.
  2. Open the document that contains the objects that you want to reposition.
  3. Click to select an object.
  4. On the Format menu, click Object.
  5. On the Wrapping tab, click Square.
  6. Click OK.
You can now place the object at any position in the document.

When you pute the object in the position that you want, repeat steps 1 through 4, click In line with text, and then click OK. The object remains in a position that is absolute to the text.

Repeat these steps for each object that you want to reposition in the document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
