SYMPTOMS

When you use "Anova: Two-Factor With Replication" in the Data Analysis tools, you may receive one of the following error messages:
Anova: Two-Factor With Replication - Each sample must contain the same number of rows.

-or-

Anova: Two-Factor With Replication - Input range should contain two or more blocks of data arranged in rows or columns.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the input range that you specify does not contain data with the correct layout or labels. Anova: Two-Factor With Replication requires that you include labels for each group and each trial as shown in the More Information section of this article.

RESOLUTION

Use both column and row labels for your input data range.

The following data could be used to analyze two trials for two groups:

A1 :              B1 : Group 1      C1 : Group 2      
A2 : Trial 1      B2 : 75           C2 : 59           
A3 :              B3 : 68           C3 : 56

A5 :              B5 : 75           C5 : 60           
A6 : Trial 2      B6 : 66           C6 : 62

A8 :              B8 : 68           C8 : 59           
A9 :              B9 : 68           C9 : 68
					

To analyze this data using Anova: Two-Factor With Replication, the input range would include A1:C9 and the number of rows would be 4.
