XADM: Error Message: "JET_errStreamingDataNotLogged" When You Restore (267260)

SYMPTOMS

When you perform a restore procedure or disaster recovery on an Exchange 2000 server that has circular logging enabled, you receive the following error message when the transaction logs are being replayed if a backup has not been done since circular logging was disabled:
JET_errStreamingDataNotLogged
This error prevents the logs from completely replaying through.

CAUSE

To prevent data corruption, Exchange 2000 does not replay through transaction logs that are generated by circular logging when that option is disabled.

WORKAROUND

After disabling circular logging, perform a backup of the information store database. This removes the transaction logs that are generated by circular logging, and provides a reliable point to restore from.
