IntelliType Pro 1.2 Installation In Windows Me Produces a False Incompatibility Message (267021)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft IntelliType Pro 1.2 under Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), the following error message occurs:
"This program does not run correctly on this Version of Windows. To continue, click Run Program. To exit, click Cancel. For more information, click Details."

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior:
  • Verify that you are installing IntelliType Pro version 1.2. If you are not sure of the version, click Cancel to stop the installation, and then reinstall. Be sure that you have selected IntelliType Pro version 1.2.
  • When the error message referenced in the "Symptoms" section occurs, ignore it, and click Run Program, and then continue with the installation.

MORE INFORMATION

The error message references in the "Symptoms" section of this article is correct for IntelliType Pro versions 1.0 and 1.1 under Windows Me, but not for version 1.2. IntelliType Pro version 1.2, 2.0, and 2.1 are only intended for use with Windows Me.
