PRB: Application Center Does Not Replicate COM+ Application Proxies (266604)

SYMPTOMS

After you deploy an Application Center 2000 application that contains a COM+ application proxy, the COM+ application is not fully replicated to the target computers. The Application Center application itself is deployed to the target computers, but the COM+ Application resources of that application, which are COM+ application proxies, are not replicated. These COM+ application proxies appear as deleted COM+ applications on the target computers.

CAUSE

COM+ does not currently support the export of a COM+ application proxy. COM+ requires a full component installation to allow export. Application Center uses the COM+ export functionality for deploying COM+ applications.

RESOLUTION

Install the full component on the source computer.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
