When you create a document in Microsoft Word, insert a picture in the document, and then save the document as a Works Word Processor (.wps) file, the picture disappears when you open the document in Works or in Word.
If you save the same document as a Word (.doc) file, the document opens with the picture visible as expected in Word or Works.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the picture is a Windows Metafile (.wmf) or a
bitmap (.bmp) file.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this problem from occurring, save the file as a Word document.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Works.
